Abstract

Outbreak of potato Y potyvirus and tobacco mosaic tobamovirus in Georgia's flue-cured tobacco.

Abstract

In 1999 tobacco plants showing various degrees of mottling, mosaic and vein clearing were observed in Georgia, USA. The main causal organisms were isolated and identified by ELISA as potato virus Y (PVY) and tobacco mosaic virus (TMV). Of 50 samples tested, 28 were doubly infected with PVY and TMV.
