Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

First report of Pasteuria nishizawae Sayre, Wergin, & Nishizawa attacking Heterodera glycines in Korea.

Abstract

P. nishizawae found parasitizing H. glycines is described. Diameters of the sporangium and central body were 5.6 µm and 1.9 µm under light microscopy (LM), and 3.9 µm and 1.8 µm under transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The endospore was cup-shaped with a smooth-type exosporium without peg-like thickening in the polar area under SEM and TEM. The bacterium completed its life cycle in H. glycines females after adhering to the cuticle of the second-stage juvenile.
