Leaf diseases of lime trees.
Several common leaf diseases of lime trees (Tilia spp.) and their causes are described. Apiognomonia tiliae is the most conspicuous leaf parasite, its development apparently being dependent on the presence of gall-causing insects or mites. Symptoms caused by Asteromella tiliae appear mainly towards the end of the growing season and thus are of no economic importance. Cercospora microspora seems to be of increasing significance, its diagnosis often being impeded by the absence of conidia production.
