Abstract

Change of weed community in paddy-upland rotation.

Abstract

Field studies were conducted in Korea Republic in 1996 to investigate changes in the weed community under a paddy-upland rotation. The dominant weed species in paddy conditions were Cyperus amuricus, Echinochloa crus-galli, Rotala indica and Lindernia procumbens, and in upland conditions E. crus-galli, Digitaria sanguinalis and C. amuricus were dominant. The number of weeds found in paddy and upland rotations was reduced by 74-78% compared to continuous paddy and upland conditions.
