Abstract
Controlling Dendrolimus punctatus with Trichogramma dendrolimi carrying cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus.
Abstract
Using Trichogramma dendrolimi which carried Dendrolimus punctatus wenshansis cytoplasmic polyhedrosis virus (DpwCPV) controlled D. punctatus. Control rates of normal T. dendrolimi were 74.6-81.2% and 94.1-97.3% with T. dendrolimi carrying DpwCPV. Mortality caused by T. dendrolimi is influenced by the development stage of host eggs. The wasps seldom oviposited in host eggs older than 30 h. Using T. dendrolimi to disseminate DpwCPV requires less virus material than the spraying of pines [Pinus] with DpwCPV.
