Abstract
Estimation of losses due to pod borers in oilseed crops.
Abstract
Crop losses due to Penthicoides seriatoporus and Anisolabis [Euborellia] annulipes in groundnuts, Antigastra catalaunalis in sesame and Dichocrocis punctiferalis [Conogethes punctiferalis?] in castor [Ricinus communis] were studied. Percentage seed damage in infested pods was 63.5, 73.4 and 42.3% in groundnuts, sesame and castor, respectively, and percentage weight loss of damaged seeds was 59.2, 100.0 and 63.0%, respectively.
