Abstract

Integrated management of leaf spot of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) with botanicals and chemicals.

Abstract

Efforts have been made to study the effect of botanicals and chemicals individually and in combination for the management of tikka leaf spot disease of groundnut caused by Cercospora arachidicola [Mycosphaerella arachidis] and Phaeoisariopsis personata [M. berkeleyi]. Results indicated that spraying of 5% leaf extracts of Calotropis procera or combination of 2.5 g and 1.0 g of mancozeb and carbendazim proved significantly effective in controlling the leaf spot and in increasing the yield. However, spraying of 2.5 g mancozeb + 1.0 g carbendazim at 50 DAS followed by spraying of C. procera 5% leaf extract at 70 DAS proved to be highly significant in reducing the leaf spot disease and in increasing the yield.
