Abstract

Clinical and bacteriological studies on contagious agalactia in sheep.

Abstract

A disease characterized by mastitis, keratoconjunctivitis and arthritis was observed in a flock of 200 sheep in Kars province. Mycoplasma agalactiae was isolated in pure culture from eye swabs, joint fluid, and milk samples from affected animals. The isolate was sensitive to danofloxacin, enrofloxacin, and Linco-Spectin, but resistant to streptomycin and ampicillin.
