Abstract

Simondsia paradoxa: newly recorded nematode parasite from feral pigs in Australia.

Abstract

Feral pigs were collected in Queensland, Australia, between April and June 1992 as part of an ecological study. Four of 51 necropsied animals each had a nodule on the gastric wall which was found to contain male and female Simondsia paradoxa. This is the first record of S. paradoxa in Australia. The nodule from one pig also contained a male Physocephalus sexalatus.
