Abstract

Occurrence of the fungus Pestalotia dichaeta in populations of Eucalyptus spp.

Abstract

The pathogen Pestalotia dichaeta [Pestalotiopsis dichaeta] was isolated from diseased plants of Eucalyptus dunnii, Eucalyptus viminalis and Eucalyptus nitens collected in Canoinhas, Santa Catarina. Eucalyptus viminalis seedlings were inoculated with spores of the pathogen. After several weeks the symptoms of the disease were again observed and the pathogen was reisolated. The seedlings recovered within a few months.
