Abstract

The first endemic Macronychia from the Oriental Region (Diptera: Sarcophagidae).

Abstract

Macronychia malayana sp. nov. is described from West Malaysia, where it was collected hill-topping in the Cameron Highlands (1696 m a.s.l.) of Pahang in November 1994. It represents the first species of Macronychia endemic to the Oriental Region. It is argued that the species cannot be accommodated within any of the 2 subgenera of Macronychia currently recognized.
