Intra- and interspecific allelochemical effects in three Kalanchoe-species (Crassulaceae).
The intra- and interspecific acting allelochemicals of K. daigremontiana, K. tubiflora and K. pinnata were isolated. They were identified as p-hydroxybenzoic, protocatechuic, gallic, p-coumaric and coffeic [caffeic ?] acids. By measuring the lengths of stems and primary roots of Kalanchoe-daughter plants, the intra- and interspecific inhibitory activities of authentic compounds could be demonstrated.
