Abstract

Infection of radish and rayosag seeds by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris.

Abstract

A survey was conducted in Sikkim, India, to determine the prevalence of X. campestris pv. campestris (black rot) on cruciferous crops. Experiments were also conducted to determine whether seed samples were infected. Disease was prevalent on all crucifers in the area. Also the pathogen was present on seeds of radish and rayosag [Brassica juncea] and cauliflowers. This is the first report of black rot on crucifers and seed infection of radish and rayosag.
