Abstract

The current developments in the understanding of phylogenetic relationships, problems of nomenclature and quarantine importance of the bacteria causing Sumatra disease of cloves (Pseudomonas syzygii), blood disease (attributed to P. celebensis, an invalid name), Moko disease (P. solanacearum race 2, biovar 1), bugtok and/or taprouk disease (P. solanacearum biovar 1) and bacterial wilt (P. solanacearum biovar 3) of Musa spp. are reviewed.
