Abstract

Several isolates of Pythium were collected from different greenhouses and 3 host plants (tomatoes, cucumbers and carnations). Based on the cultural and morphological features of the isolates 2 species were identified: P. irregulare, isolated from tomatoes and carnation and P. vexans from tomatoes and cucumbers. P. irregulare is a new record for Bulgaria and P. vexans is reported for the first time on tomatoes and cucumbers.
