Studies on the prevalence of six major fruit rot diseases of chilli at different stages of fruit development in Chittagong District.
The relative incidence of the 6 types of rot caused by Alternaria capsici-annui and A. tenuis [A. alternata], Cercospora capsici, Colletotrichum capsici, C. gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata], Fusarium spp. and Periconia byssoides was recorded on Capsicum fruits at young, mature and ripened stages. Fruit infection and total rot for all types was max. at the ripened stage at all 3 test locations surveyed during 1986-87 and 1987-88.
