Abstract

Orobanche minor in the Netherlands: an agricultural problem became an endangered species.

Abstract

The decline in occurrence of O. minor in the natural vegetation and arable fields of the Netherlands is reviewed. The close relationship between O. minor and the host Trifolium pratense is described. It is thought that the demise of O. minor may be due to the decrease of T. pratense, due to a reduction in mixed grass vegetation.
