Abstract

Study on bio-ecology and control of Aonidiella orientalis in Jiroft and Hormozgan.

Abstract

Based on investigations carried out in Iran in 1985-87, it was found that Aonidiella orientalis has up to 5 generations a year in the Jiroft region. The diaspidid is an important pest of Citrus, especially Omani lime, sweet lime and grapefruit, in Hormozgan and Jiroft. Natural enemies of the diaspidid were collected, and a list is presented of 3 species of predatory coccinellids and 5 hymenopterous parasitoids that were identified.
