Abstract

In 1987, serious damage caused by Carposina sasakii to plum fruits was found in Fujian Province, China, for the first time, a new record of the orchard pest in this province. A series of studies on its bionomics, including life history, overwintering behaviour, duration of the immature stages, longevity of adults, peak periods of larvae above ground, emergence of adults and hatching and fruit boring of 1st-generation larvae, etc., were investigated in 1990-93 in Yongtai County, Fujian Province.
