Abstract
Nysius huttoni White (Heteroptera: Lygaeidae) a pest of direct drilled brassicas.
Abstract
Adults and nymphs of Nysius huttoni were found damaging direct drilled swedes in New Zealand during 1992-93. Up to 92% of plants were damaged in untreated plots, but 32% in plots treated with isazophos [isazofos]. Plots treated with isazophos were heavily infested by the weeds Capsella bursapastoris and Taraxacum officinale, suggesting that the lygaeid has an effect on the presence of weed species.
