Studies on the mealy-bug Planococus citri (Risso).
Three generations of the pseudococcid Planococus citri [Planococcus citri] on the ornamental succulent Kalanchos blossfeldiana [? Kalanchoe blossfeldiana] were observed annually in the Shanghai region. The life history of the pest is described and values given for threshold development temperatures and heat sums. In insecticide tests, 15% Temik [aldicarb] granules mixed in soil around the plant roots or 40% omethoate 100x poured over the roots resulted in 97% control or more.
