Abstract

The effects of more than 40 pesticides against Panonychus citri, Aphis gossypii, A. citricola [A. spiraecola], Ceroplastes rubens and Phyllocnistes citrella were evaluated in laboratory and field trials in Zhejiang, China. Use of selective or partially selective pesticides (nissorum [hexythiazox], clofentezine, peropal [azocylotin], torque, comite [propargite], cascade [flufenoxuron], lubrication emulsion and mipcin [isoprocarb]), alone or in combination was 14.91-42.14% cheaper than using organophosphorus pesticides, with or without pyrethroids. The selective pesticides resulted in lower mortality of the pest natural enemies.
