Abstract

Phloeo- and xylophagous beetles (Coleoptera) in oak trap trees on a forest-steppe site.

Abstract

Three Quercus dalechampii trees (aged 45-50 yr, dbh 23 cm), felled in 1987 and 1988, were exposed to bark beetle attack in a forest site near Zvolen, central Slovakia. Twenty beetle species (3575 individuals) were found associated with oaks. Data are given for dominant species, location (twigs, branches, stems), natural enemies and parasitoids. serious pest species were identified - Scolytus intricatus - and Agrilus sp.
