Study of five species of feather mites of the genus Proctophyllodes Robin, 1877 (Acarina, Proctophyllodidae) parasitic on Spanish passeriform birds.
Abstract
Proctophyllodes cotyledon from Phoenicurus ochruros, Proctophyllodes doleophyes from Ficedula hypoleuca, P. rubeculinus from Erithacus rubecula, P. reguli from Regulus ignicapillus and P. stylifer from Parus caeruleus represent new geographical records of these feather mites for Spain. Biometrical data are given and drawings of the male ventral and female dorsal morphology are provided to facilitate identification.
