Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Two new species of Circocylliba (Acari: Uropodina) and range extensions for previously described species.

Abstract

Circocylliba dulcius sp. nov. and C. esenbecki sp. nov. from Neotropical army ants (Eciton dulcius in Ecuador, and Nomamyrmex esenbecki, from Costa Rica, respectively) are described. A key to the known species is presented. Geographic ranges for 3 species (C. ecitonis, from E. hamatum, E. burchelli, E. rapax and E. mexicanum in Mexico, Guatemala, Peru and Ecuador; C. equadoriensis from E. burchelli in Brazil; and C. weberi from E. hamatum in Ecuador) are significantly extended.
