Saponins from Albizia lebbeck.

Abstract

In India, A. lebbeck is used as an antiseptic, and to treat dysentery and tuberculosis. Three saponins, named alibiziasaponins A, B, and C, were isolated from the bark of A. lebbeck (collected from the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology Campus). Their structures were established from spectral data.
