Abstract

Relationship between soil properties and weed flora.

Abstract

A weed survey was conducted in Hungary during 1979-1988 to study the effects of soil properties (notably texture, humus content and pH) on the weed flora in maize. These soil properties influenced the abundance and presence of certain weed species, especially of dominant weeds, e.g. Sorghum halepense, Ambrosia elatior [A. artemisiifolia], Amaranthus retroflexus and Echinochloa crus-galli.
