Abstract

Current state of infestation with Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) (P. B.) of the cultivated fields in Żuławy Wiślane.

Abstract

In field trials conducted in Żuławy Wiślane, Poland, during 1986-1987, the distribution of E. crus-galli in cultivated fields (containing sugarbeet, maize, field beans [faba beans] and spring cereals) was observed. In the region under study, E. crus-galli was prevalent in sugarbeet, maize and faba beans. The spread of E. crus-galli varied depending on the crop in which it was growing. The number of generative shoots and DM wt of E. crus-galli were 7.2 and 9.1 g, resp., in sugarbeet, 4.4 and 7.2 g, resp., in maize and 1.9 and 2.6 g, resp., in faba beans.
