Abstract
On the occurrence of Brucella ovis-infection in sheep flocks in Austria.
Abstract
In ELISA tests on serum samples from 812 rams (727 Tiroler Bergschaf and 85 Steinschaf) for B. ovis antibodies in 1990-1992 seroprevalence was approximately 10%. Serological data are tabulated. Bacteriology revealed B. ovis isolation from the seminal plasma of 9 breeding rams from 6 farms. Clinical and pathohistological features are described and those observed on 14 farms are tabulated including ELISA and complement fixation test titres.
