Abstract

Ptilotolepis raymondi (Gigon et Beuret, 1991) comb. n. (Cyclophyllidea, Dilepididae): new geographical record and synonymy.

Abstract

Ptilotolepis raymondi comb. nov. (for Unciunia raymondi, Ptilotolepis philomelae, new synonymy) is recorded and redescribed from Turdus philomelos in Bulgaria. The same specimens were recorded as Anomotaenia constricta by Paspalev and Paspaleva 1972 and as Ptilotolepis sp. by Georgiev 1990. P. raymondi is regarded as a species specific parasite of T. philomelos. This constitutes the first report of this cestode from Bulgaria.
