Observations on the sanitary state of seeds of oil linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.).
Seed germination was <85% in 6 linseed cultivars of the 20 investigated and ranged from 73% in cultivar Bluechip to 44% in SF 7569. Botrytis cinerea was detected in 7 nondisinfected samples at 5-6.5% (admissible incidence is 5%) and Alternaria linicola was found in 3 samples with >20% infectionin cultivar Bluechip. Other fungi detected included Drechslera sorokiniana [Cochliobolus sativus], Fusarium avenaceum [Gibberella avenacea], A. alternata, Drechslera spp., Fusarium spp., Stemphylium spp. and Rhizopus spp.
