Abstract

Survey of summer weeds in the upper valley of Rio Negro y Neuquen.

Abstract

In a warm dry region, 200 m above sea level, weed surveys in pear and apple orchards showed that Taraxacum officinale, Polygonum aviculare and Plantago lanceolata were present on all sites. Sonchus oleraceus and Melilotus alba and, to a lesser extent, Chenopodium album and Convolvulus arvensis were found on most sites. The following 8 geophytes had not previously been recorded in these crops in the region: Agrostis stolonifera, Cardaria draba, C. chalepensis, Eragrostis lugens, Glycyrrhiza astragalina, Malvella leprosa, Setaria geniculata and Trifolium repens.
