Weeds of Bhutan.
This book is based on surveys conducted on behalf of the government of Bhutan in Mar. 1991, July-Sep. 1991 and May-July 1992, and is primarily intended as an identification aid. Most of the 187 species covered are weeds of annual or perennial crops, but some parasitic weeds of forestry species and wild plants poisonous to livestock are included. Colour photographs, a description, synonyms, local names (where known), and information on distribution and importance are presented for each species. Brief notes on the importance, biology, collection and identification of weeds, and of important weeds and their control in selected crops (maize, rice, potatoes, vegetables and orchards), maps of Bhutan, a list of useful related floras, a glossary and an index of weed names (including Latin, common and local names) are also included.
