Abstract

The systematic application of herbicides for dry-drill seeding of rice.

Abstract

Field trials in Korea Republic revealed that 2 applications of herbicide were necessary to control annual and perennial weeds (Echinochloa crus-galli > Aneilema japonicum > Cyperus microiria > Polygonum hydropiper > Digitaria sanguinalis > others) in dry-drill sown rice in which weeds emerged 6-10 d before the crop. Weed control amounted to 92-99% following a 1st application of butachlor or benthiocarb [thiobencarb] 3 d after sowing (DAS) or of paraquat 12-15 DAS and a 2nd application of tank-mixed bentazone + quinclorac 50 DAS.
