Abstract

Good control effects of oxyfluorfen on weeds in sweetpotato fields.

Abstract

Oxyfluorfen 23.5% e.c. at 30 and 40 ml/mu in 50 litres water applied 1-3 d before transplanting sweet potatoes gave >90% control of Cyperus iria, Juncellus serotinus, Acalypha australis, Abutilon theophrasti, Celosia argentea and Portulaca oleracea, and >85% control of Echinochloa crus-galli and Digitaria sanguinalis. Increasing the rate of application to 60 ml/mu further increased weed control. Numbers of leaves, length of vines and yield of the crop were unaffected by the herbicide. [1 mu = 0.067 ha].
