A revision of the mosquitoes of the island of Principe (São Tome\ac\and Principe) is made, based on the examination of >500 adult and 300 larval and pupal specimens collected during 11 April-29 May 1986. Seven species were new for Principe: Aedes nigricephalus, Culex antennatus, C. decens, C. nebulosus, C. quinquefasciatus, Uranotaenia micromelas and Uranotaenia (Pseudoficalbia) sp. nov. Under each species, the material examined is given and brief comments are made. A total of 14 species of mosquito is now known to exist on Principe.
