Abstract

Studies on black rot of cabbage in Manipur.

Abstract

This disease, caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, appears in Manipur yearly near the end of Feb. and is most severe (up to 50%) in susceptible cultivars such as Pride of India and Golden Acre. Early Flat Dutch was the only resistant cultivar among 14 screened by inoculation. Good control was given by agrimycin-100 (1000 p.p.m.), streptocycline (250 p.p.m.), carbendazim (0.05%) and benomyl (0.05%), and spraying with carbendazim gave the best yield.
