Abstract

An attempt to define risk areas of fire blight on Rosaceae plants in Czechoslovakia.

Abstract

Fire blight (Erwinia amylovora) was observed for the first time in Czechoslovakia in 1986 on Crataegus trees and Cotoneaster shrubs. Using the data from the Climatic Atlas of Czechoslovakia for the years 1901-50, 1926-40 and 1940-55, 4 region types were defined: high risk region, Slovakia; medium risk, Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia; lower risk, Bohemia; and other regions.
