Abstract

Field resistance in different cultivars of cauliflower against head borer, Hellula undalis Fabricus (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae).

Abstract

In field trials conducted in Delhi, India, during 1990, of 64 cultivars of cauliflower screened for resistance to Hellula undalis, none were categorised as highly resistant. The least infested variety was ES-97 (which was also more resistant to fungal and bacterial diseases). Varieties showing 11 to 20% infestation were ES-96, Kartiki, KW-5, KW-8, KW-10, Kuwari, Kathmandu Local, Early Patna, EMS-30 and PSK-16.
