Abstract

A survey of onion and shallot fields in the southern Korea Republic in late September 1989 identified the leaf feeding snail Acusta despecta [Bradybaena despecta], Thrips tabaci, Acrolepiopsis sapporensis [Acrolepia sapporensis], Spodoptera exigua, S. litura, Sarcopolia illoba, Pseudaletia separata [Mythimna separata], Liriomyza chinensis and a tetranychid species. L. chinensis was the most destructive in onion fields, damaging 37.8% of tillers and 15.9% of leaves, and S. exigua was the most destructive in shallot fields and shallot vinyl houses, damaging 4.7 and 18.5% of leaves, resp.
