Scatopsidae, Lauxaniidae, Diastatidae and Hippoboscidae (Diptera) of the Kiskunság National Park, Hungary.

Abstract

The species of Scatopsidae, Lauxaniidae, Diastatidae and Hippoboscidae collected from the Kiskunság National Park, Hungary, over a 4-year period are listed. A total of 1672 specimens of 64 species of these 4 families were caught, and a further 10 species, which were collected close to the national park, are also listed. The scatopsids Aspistes berolinensis and Ferneiella incompleta, the diastatid Diastata cervinala and the hippoboscid Ornithomya fringillina (from the new host birds Regulus ignicapillus, Luscinia megarhynchos, Acrocephalus melanopogon, A. scirpaceus, Lanius collurio and Passer montanus) are new to Hungary. The following hippoboscid species were also collected: Ornithoica turdi (on the new hosts Muscicapa striata and Lanius collurio), Ornithomya avicularia, O, biloba, Hippobosca equi, Lipoptena cervi and Melophagus ovinus.
