Abstract

Susceptibility / resistance of weeds to pathogenic nematodes of tea.

Abstract

Of 45 species of weeds commonly encountered in the tea-growing areas of Sri Lanka, screened against Pratylenchus loosi, Radopholus similis and Rotylenchulus reniformis only Oxalis corniculata was resistant to all 3 nematode species. Eight weed species were susceptible to all 3 nematodes while the rest showed varying degrees of susceptibility to at least one or two of the nematodes.
