Fire blight in Norway.
Erwinia amylovora was detected for the first time in Norway in 1986, the outbreak being confined to Cotoneaster spp. in the Stavanger region. Apart from one record on apple no other host was found. An eradication programme in progress for 3 years has succeeded in preventing spread to other parts of the country, though not in eradicating infection from private gardens in the city suburbs. This paper was presented at the Fifth International Workshop on Fireblight, held in Diepenbeek, Belgium on 19-22 Jun., 1989.
