Abstract

Fruit rot disease of chilli in relation to seed infection.

Abstract

Alternaria tenuis [A. alternata], Colletotrichum capsici, Curvularia lunata [Cochliobolus lunatus] and Fusarium moniliforme [Gibberella fujikuroi] were isolated from infected Capsicum frutescens fruits in Bangladesh. When tested on healthy fruits, C. capsici and G. fujikuroi were pathogenic. A positive correlation between fruit infection and seed infection was established.
