Invasive Species Compendium

Detailed coverage of invasive species threatening livelihoods and the environment worldwide

Abstract

Diseases of cage birds and aviary birds.

Abstract

It is estimated that there are about 9 million cage and aviary birds (canaries, budgerigars and various other exotic species) in France, accounting for a quarter of all pets. There are various books on the diseases of these birds in English, but this is the first book in French. Its scope is wide and includes infectious and noninfectious diseases, clinical examination, anaesthesia, surgery and care. There is little information about individual bird species because these are catered for by a series of books from the same publisher.
