The impact of mass liberation of the already established tachinid parasitoid Diatraeophaga striatalis for the biological control of the pyralid Chilo auricilius on sugarcane in central Java, Indonesia, was investigated in 1985-87. It was confirmed that the parasitoid established well and effectively controlled the pyralid.
