Abstract

Control of the coconut red mite Raoiella indica Hirst (Tenuipalpidae: Acari) in the nursery.

Abstract

The toxicity of 7 acaricides to Raoiella indica in a coconut nursery was determined in a field test in Tamil Nadu, India, in 1986. As judged by the number of live mites after 14 days, spraying with 0.04% monocrotophos, 0.03% dimethoate, 0.05% phosphamidon or 0.025% methomyl gave significantly better control than then other treatments.
