New occurrence of downy mildew of sunflower in Andhra Pradesh.

Abstract

In Sep. 1987, diseased 30-d-old Improved Peredovick sunflowers were observed in Dindi, Nalgonda, India and symptoms of the disease are described. The causal organism was isolated and identified as Plasmopara halstedii. This is the first report of this disease in Andhra Pradesh.
