An assessment of allelopathic effects of Oryza and Leersia genotypes.
Germination rates of rice cv. Nipponbare sown in soils previously sown to japonica rice cv. Nipponbare, Shiokari, Taichung 65, indica rice 108, O. rufipogon, O. glaberrima, O. barthi, Leersia oryzoides cv. Sapporo and Beltsville, L. virginica, L. japonica and L. hexandra were 83, 85, 82, 70, 75, 72, 74, 61, 62, 59, 56, and 62%, resp. compared with 86% in previously unsown soil. Seedling and root growth and photosynthetic rates are also given.
