Abstract

New measurements that aid in the identification of Rotylenchulus parvus and R. reniformis.

Abstract

Diagnostic keys for the identification of Rotylenchulus spp. are briefly discussed and 2 new characters that can be used in separating R. parvus and R. reniformis are described. These are the straight line distance of head to tail terminus (SLHT) and head to vulva (SLHV). Over 1000 measurements were made from 19 populations of these 2 species and in all cases the average values of SLHT and SLHV for populations of R. parvus were considerably shorter than for R. reniformis.
